Alberto Pfeifer

He is a Policy Fellow at Insper Agro Global, where he works on geopolitics, strategic affairs, international relations, and foreign policy related to global agribusiness. He founded and coordinates the International Strategy Analysis Group (DSI) in Defense, Security, and Intelligence/Science, Technology, and Innovation at the School of Multidimensional Security (ESEM) at USP. He designed and teaches the course "Science, Technology, and Innovation: the International Dimension" (EAD5966) in the graduate program at FEA/USP. He is an associate researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA) at USP. He is a member of COSAG and COSCEX at FIESP; a member of the Agribusiness Council of ACSP, a member of the Board of Camarbra, and a member of the Board of ESEM/IRI/USP. He is a regular contributor to CNN and hosts the program "Brasil Seguro" on YpeTV. He served as Director of Special Projects and Director of Strategic International Affairs at the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic. He was also an advisor to the president of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. He served as General Executive Director and Director of the Brazilian Chapter of the Latin American Business Council (CEAL). He was general coordinator of the International Situation Analysis Group (Gacint) of the Institute of International Relations (IRI) at USP, where he served as a tenured collaborating professor. He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from ESALQ/USP and a Bachelor of Laws from the USP Law School. He holds a Master's degree in Applied Economics from USP and a Master's degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts and Harvard University), a PhD in Geography from USP, with doctoral studies at Ohio State University, the University of California at Berkeley and FADUSP, a specialization in Capital Markets (MBA) from FGV-RJ/Ibmec and in Early Childhood Development from the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, and the USP School of Medicine (Pinheiros).
