Planting or management of trees in association with agricultural or forage crops. Example: trees for extraction of native timber with leguminous and fruit species.

Equipped and prepared environment where a set of activities related to the transformation of agricultural raw materials from agriculture, livestock, aquaculture or forestry are carried out systematically.

It is the integrated system for producing food, beverages, fibers, bioenergy and other goods derived from agricultural products. It is a complex of agro-industrial chains, defined as a sequence that includes inputs, agricultural production, the processing industry and services (distribution). 

It is important not to confuse agribusiness with agriculture when evaluating figures. Agribusiness encompasses the sector as a whole and agriculture is a segment within agribusiness, with other segments upstream and downstream. 

It refers to an area of ​​5.217.423 km², which corresponds to 61% of the Brazilian territory. It covers the entire Brazilian Amazon biome, 20% of the Cerrado and part of the Pantanal Mato Grosso. It encompasses Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins and part of the state of Maranhão. The concept was instituted by the Brazilian government as a way of planning and promoting the social and economic development of the states of the Amazon region, which historically share the same economic, political and social challenges. Its current scope was defined by the 1988 Constitution. 

Ammonia (NH3) is a colorless, toxic gas with a pungent odor. It occurs naturally, mainly through the anaerobic decomposition of plant and animal matter. It is very important in the manufacture of agricultural fertilizers.

It consists of a control system over food safety through the analysis and control of biological, chemical and physical risks at all stages, from the production of raw materials to manufacturing, distribution and consumption.

Protected area, covered or not by native vegetation, located along rivers or any watercourse. Their purpose is to preserve water resources, biodiversity and landscape, in addition to protecting the soil and ensuring human well-being.
