17/07/25 - Hugo Jacques Kennedy | Alberto Pfeifer
Professor Alberto Pfeifer and researcher Hugo Jacques Kennedy join the IAG team, strengthening the analysis of global geopolitical and international security issues that impact Brazilian agribusiness.
The Insper Agro Global research center, associated with the Insper Business Center, announces the expansion of its team with the hiring of two researchers who reinforce its commitment to in-depth analysis of global agribusiness issues. The arrival of these new specialists marks the creation of the research area. “Geopolitics, Strategy and International Security”, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Alberto Pfeifer, who became the first Policy Fellow associated with the nucleus.
This effort addresses the growing importance of macropolitical variables that affect the ordering of global agricultural businesses. Geopolitical and strategic factors are becoming increasingly decisive for agricultural activity, such as the distribution of critical resources (land, water, technology, and capital), the flow of products and inputs, and access to international markets.
Alberto Pfeifer brings to Insper a solid career, marked by academic, corporate, and public sector work, with a focus on international relations. In recent years, he has excelled in strategic affairs, consolidated by coordinating the International Strategy Analysis Group in Defense, Security, and Intelligence (DSI) at the University of São Paulo. He served as Director of International Affairs for the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic and as International Executive Director and of the Brazilian Chapter of the Latin American Business Council (CEAL). He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from ESALQ/USP, a Bachelor of Laws from the USP Law School, a Master of Applied Economics from ESALQ, a Master of International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a PhD in Geography from USP. He is also a member of the boards of FIESP (Cosag and Coscex) and ACSP.
Researcher also joins the Insper Agro Global team Hugo Jacques Kennedy, who specialized in geopolitics, international trade, and commodities, with a focus on global economic governance. Hugo earned his undergraduate and master's degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Sciences Po Paris, and also attended University College London (UCL). His experience includes serving as an advisor to the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly.
With the consolidation of this new research area and the expansion of its team, Insper Agro Global reaffirms its commitment to generating excellent knowledge, responding to the contemporary demands of global agribusiness and contributing to its competitiveness and sustainability in a constantly changing global scenario.
